Just getting my boat ready for the season, and decided to do a compression test. I didnt know what to expect, as the motor is fairly old, 87' force 125hp. The readings I got were.
Cyl#1-109,#2-105,#3-107,#4-97 Are these still usable numbers?
Thanks

Re: compression test

They are a little low was the engine warm or cold when you took them?

125 would be a better number and I like to see all cylinders with in 5 lb of each other. I would think you are not too far away from a ring job if you ran the test on a warm engine.

Those are pretty average numbers out of that motor, it will run on 80lbs. Do a thorough decarb and you may see your numbers come up a little. But, you shouldnt have anything to worry about.
