We have a 2001 Tige V-drive and it recently broke down on our first time out for the year. We took it in and they said the number three compression in the motor is broken. What does this mean?<br />Thank you!

Re: Compression

What is a Tige V-drive? and how would that relate to 'broken' compression in a motor? Compression, in motors, is not usually referred to as broken. When a compression test is performed, the results are expressed as X psi in # Y cylinder. I don't think you have given enough information for a responsible answer to be given.

Re: Compression

I took my boat for inspection after winter storage. They said my 5.0L #3 cylinder was weak at 120psi when the rest 150-155psi. After running a tank of gas the piston rings or valves re-seated. It sounds like you might have a more serious problem.
