Windows XP Home edition.
Office 2007 (Dumbest thing I ever did)
Here's the problem. Was saving a picture from a document from Word 2007 had a couple of screens saying something about active desktop and clicked Yes or OK or something and it saved my picture while my better half is talking a mile a minute. Problem is, now all my icons have blue backround around the text instead of clear, and for the life of me I can't find where to put it back. This can't be that big of a deal ............... can it??? All I did was save a .jpg image from word.

Stupid computer

Re: Computer Icon problem

By the way...ever think to read the 'stickys'?

No stickies concerning my problem, I looked :D

Or download the manual?

I have the paper manual, have you ever tried to read and even think about understanding a Microsoft manual. I would end up slitting my wrists

And...what is the serial number of your computer...how can we help with such little info?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, got me there

Anyway, deactivated the active desktop and all is back to normal.
Thanks. :D :D

I hate active desktop.
FWIW, I switched from MS Office to Open Office...doesn't cost anything to try.

Re: Computer Icon problem

I've never use active desktop, and don't even know what it is. Just seems odd that something like active desktop would control backround color of the icons, but nothing in HELP to tell you that. Probably a lot like clicking START to shut the thing off. What would be wrong with an OFF button ????

I don't very often, but there are times. And I never fail to find an answer here.

May have to give that Open Office a try, heard about it, never tried it. Didn't mind Office 2003, but this 2007 junk is a joke. Unless you are a Gadget Junkie. Tabs was a good idea on IE7, but not worth the effort in Word & Excel. OneNote might be worth something to some, but I really can't find a use for it. Only reason I bought it was to put it on the laptop I got the wife for Christmas. Vista won't take Office 2003, BUmmer.
