Hey guys, Looking at trying to get my boat off the trailer to paint it. I don't have strong enough ceiling joists to support the weight of the boat. Is there anything that can be done to set it on "jack stands" or a perch to store it on during prep and paint? I planed on rough sanding it, tack cloth and then using tintable roll on bed liner for the underside of the hull and then a different color on the top with a grip texture to it. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated!

You could lower the trailer jack all the way down. Then put your stands in the back. Raise the trailer back up ( now your ass end is off the trailer ). Using some floor jacks and doing a swapparoo here and there in the front while pulling your trailer out works good if you dont have an A frame of sorts in front to pull it out in one go. Block the keel just about where the keel starts to sweep upward.

You should also have a block at the back. Using jack stands back there makes it easy to raise or lower it a little to get something snug under there.

Good luck and be safe about it..take your time man.
