Putting new cap, rotor and sensor assembly and wanted to confirm correct connection of wires #1 and #2 in picture. I had the old style sensor in the cap and wire #2 (a ground I assume) was connected to one of the screws holding the old assembly in. The new assembly has black wire with the larger connector and I'm wondering if I simply splice the #1 and #2 wires together?

If not, where does #1 go for the new assembly?

Thanks much for considering!

Post #21 here has picture of old assembly. Oh, and drilling out the two broken bolts was a hoot. Was able to do this without removing the distributor assembly which may be beyond my limited mechanical skills.

That wire should be connected to 1 of the 2 ground studs on the back of the engine.
(Where the negative battery cable connects to)

Thanks. Found those. Just curious what to do with that original ground wire that was connected to the distributor cap.
