Constant Steady Alarm and Boat Wont Start

I just bought a 2006 Stingray 20' with a Volvo penta 5.0 95 hours on her. Very excited!
I have never had it in the water but when I bought it I started it on the trailer and half a crank fired up and ran perfect. Of course I just let it run for 5-10 seconds before shutting it off. I have done this over the past month a few times in the garage and boom fired instantly and purred perfectly. Now when I turn the ignition on I get a constant steady alarm and the boat wont start. She cranks but wont start. I have checked the kill switch to make sure nothing came loose. I checked the motor oil to make sure it was full and also checked the lower unit oil to make sure it was full. Both had plenty of oil. I also topped off the charge of the battery with a battery charger and reconnect the terminals tightly. Would you guys have any other suggestions of what it could be or where I can start to diagnose?

I have no clue on the no start, but put a new impeller in it before you go to the lake and stop running it without muffs.

Are you starting the motor without water connected to the drive?

Yes I started it to make sure it would fire about 3 times on separated occasions without muffs, like I said when It fired I shut it right off after 5 seconds.

Little update to the problem - I feel like an idiot but I put muffs on it and got it to start when I would put it in neutral and give it throttle. then it started and idled fine and alarm went off.
2 questions-
1. the alarm still goes off constantly with the ignition switch on and goes off after the boat starts. What would cause the alarm to continually sound with the key on?
2. I wonder if its related to the alarm at all that I now have to give it a boost of throttle to start and I didn't when I started it on 3 separate occasions before when the alarm wasn't constant.

The new impeller for that boat is a few hundred for the part alone if I'm not mistaken. Should I not check it to see if any problems before just replacing?

The alarm is beeping with key on engine not running because lack of oil pressure. Then when fired up it goes off. Easy enough to pull impeller and inspect.

Never start the motor without water going to it. It only takes a few seconds to burn the impeller. It fits real tight inside the housing to be able to suck water in, and it a few seconds it can be damaged. The impeller is the main reason engines overheat. This is a new to you boat, so the first thing you should do other the change the oil and filters, is replace the impeller. It should be replaced every two years or at the least three.

You don't know how much I appreciate you all's input! ok, I will buy and replace the impeller this week. The other boats I have been on the alarm comes on then goes off when the ignition is turned on. Is my model supposed to continually go off until started? I can't see this being correct?

Not a VP guy, but most all my boats sound the alarm until started, the ones that don't have about a 20 second delay before they sound off. This is all caused by the oil pressure switch

My 2001 VP 5.0 also has the alarm constant until it's started.

Go to walmart or a marina and get some drive muffs so you can put it on the hose and start it before trailing to the water once your impeller is replaced. That probably isnt why the boat isnt starting though. If it is a carburated engine and not fuel injected then it has probably been sitting too long and the fuel bowl in the carb has run dry or evaporated. This can be a problem if it is hot or just very dry. If this is the case expect a hard start, a really hard start. My buddy suggested removing one of the top screws holding the bowl on the carb and injecting some fuel into the float bowl with a baby syringe or a small turkey baster if it has been sitting for several weeks. Havent tried it yet myself.
