Has anyone ever removed one of this jamb? Striker side--not hinge/door side.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Look at it closely, there should be small nails,or it could be glued on.Usualy with screws, they are countersunk, then a plug is in the hole, covering the screw. You can carefully pick out the plug without doing much damage.
Why do ya have to remove it?

Re: Contessa Door Jamb Removal

I will remove to extract the fuel tank thru the aft berth door & then thru the cabin door. The tank must be cut to allow this to happen. I will not cut the upper helm station to remove the tank. I will section the tank & replace with alternative solution. I have already cut the aft berth floor to gain access to the tank. Questionable design by Bayliner but I am hearing that this is not all that rare with other brands.

Thank you for your reply.

If you pop over to the Bayliner Owners club, you'll find a number of threads dealing with this exact issue, on this model. Gas tank rot is fairly common a number of manufacturers.
