Continuity Screw Length? Alpha 1 Gen 2

I lost my continuity screw at some point end of last season. Can anyone confirm the length of the screw? I found a screw that is 1/4" stainless that fits the threads perfect, but I'm not sure if it should be 1/4" or shorter. Seems like it passes right through the side of the outdrive frame and pushes against the speedo tube. At 1/4" the screw sticks out on the inside about 1/8" and I would imagine will be rubbing on the speedo line plenty. Can someone confirm the screws length, and have a look and see how its interfering with the speedo line?

Its one of the screws that come in the continuity kit 99940A2. This isn't my outdrive, but here is a picture of its location:

That is about a 1/4 inch in length the hole does go thru the housing . You can tap it for any common size 8-32, 10-32 etc. and use a SS bolt
