I have a 17' 1973 Renken tri-hull with a mercruiser 3.0. I am wondering how hard it is to replace the "upper" shift control cable. Last week we were on the lake and while shifting, the end of the shift/control cable broke where it connects to the remote throttle. It is a dual remote that controls both shifting and throttle, but separate cables. I have recently just had the lower shift cable replaced with the bellows, but I was hoping I could replace this cable myself.
How hard is it and what remote cable do I need? or what kind? any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jtuffy
I will try to post a picture of the cable and the remote.
