This is in relation to a 1973 Evinrude Fifty Sizzler:
I may not be describing it right, but it seems like when I put my throttle control fulll forward, my controls all shift forward. My neutral moves up on the controls to about the 1/2 full-throttle position. I end up loosing reverse because I can not move the levers far enough back to engage reverse.
I took apart the controls twice and can't seem to see what causes this. I put them back together and it happens again every time. The fwd/rvse cable moves, put it takes some pressure ... not sure if this is normal. The boat, controls and motor are pretty old. I just bought the boat this season ... i am a newbie so any help would be greatly appreciated.
