:redface::redface:eek:k yes know how to read a tape measure and yea i took it out and laid it on the ground is reads 11'5" tip to tip. no its not completly broke just the outside casing wires are broken.

:redface:am i not measuring it right?

:redface:is it not supposed to be measured tip to tip?

can anybody help me out please!!!:)

They don't have to be that precise, just go with a 12'.

the black sheath should have a number stamp into it. that is the replacement #.

Also, if the cables are for an OMC motor, make sure you get the right ones. The cables for the older control boxes have bare wire ends, onto which you install the end fittings with set screws. The newer ones have the fittings already installed. While the fittings on the motor end are the same on the two types, the fittings on the control end are not, and won't work with boxes that require the bare wire type.

I believe that the last year that the bare wire end cables were used was 1978. Remember, however, that the issue is what year the control unit was made, not the motor. If in doubt as to what you have, just look at the cables you are replacing.
