its a shift cable for a '79 115 johnson

:redface::redface:yes i know how to read a tape measure yes i took it out and laid it on the ground it reads 11'5". no its not completely broken just the outside casing wires are broken.

:redface:am i not measuring it right?

:redface:is it not supposed to be measured tip to tip?

can anyone help me please!!!!:)

look on the black sheath, see if there is a number on it. you measure the black sheath, you also need to know if you have a pre 79, or post 79 control, the cables are different. post a picture of both ends of the cables, we can tell you.
if replacing one, may as well replace both, the other one is not far behind.

well i just found my usb cable and apparently my dogs must have thought my cable for my camera was candy.

im almost certain its post '79 from the cables ive on this site, the throttle cable looks pretty new, but i cant find any numbers anywhere that would indicate a length on either- only " T 4".

the sheath measures 10' even so i guess theres my answer.

i really appreciate your help tashasdaddy!:)

so now i dont feel quite as dumb, because who wouldnt have thought tip to tip?
