Control cables ?

I realize this isn't quite an engine issue, but I'm not sure other forum to post this to.

My problem is this : The control cables on my 1983 Capri are cracked & weathered, allowing water to seep in and immobilizing the cable and controls.

Now there are two cables to be replace....yet the parts ordering here on 'iboats' only list one cable for this boat/engine. Are both cables identical ? (I emailed this question to iboats, and got no response).

Thanks in advance for the help !

Yes, both cables are the same. The only differences between throttle and shift are the ends and you already have them. They screw right onto the new cables. measure the original cables. If they are not the exact length of the new ones offered at iboats or if they are not an even foot, round UP to the nearest foot. Much better to have them slightly long than too short. Too short and they tend to bind.
