Control Repair - Round Red Plug Model

I've got an '88 70 horse with control box that uses the round red plug. However, I managed to break the remote throttle and gear shift by putting too much pressure on the handle when the cables were frozen. So I'm an idiot...

Anyway, the teeth on both the shift/throttle plate assembly (#0389266 - the big "wheel" inside the remote) and the shift lever assembly (#0390610) are broken. Everything else is fine, and I could easily replace those two parts if I could find them. They're not available anymore as far as I can tell. I found a shift lever on ebay, but no luck on the shift/throttle plate. Plus, I'd like to avoid paying a premium if I can help it. Does anyone have any advice on locating these two parts?

Alternatively, maybe it's possible to somehow creatively repair the parts to make them work? Or to adapt a different remote or different parts to make it work? Right now I'm running the remote as throttle only and shifting by working the shift cable by hand ... not the greatest long-term solution.

Thanks for any help.

If they don't have those parts at sea-way.com, try some of these salvage yards:

outboard-parts.com

laingsoutboards.com

tcoutboard.com

fairwindsmarina.com

There is a company that makes the part u need the link below will take u to their site then just enter either the johnson/evinrude part number 390610 or the Mallory part number 9-71101. They also make a replacement part for johnson/evinrude part number 397272 which is Mallory part number 9-71100
