What do the knobs do on this controler?
I understand the F & R and warm up lever and key what do the others do?
The two on the bottom front and the one on the left, is it a kill switch?

The one on the left is the kill switch which you need a lanyard for. The top on the front should be the key and the one below it should be your throttle friction. With that lanyard off the mtr won't start.

Thank you, makes since for the friction for the throttle. I had a feeling about the lanyard, but last night I attempted to put it back on (it has not been off for years- not since I've owned the boat 7+ years) but it did not seem to clip on. So I held the button in to see If I had spark and no go yet. Think I need to get into the points of this switch or can I ohm it out to see if its a closed circuit?

Check out the switch first and if that checks okay you have other problems in the mtr. Go back to the mtr and remove the black/yellow wire from the pulse pack and see what happens.
