1982 25hp Merc sn:6153237<br /><br />I currently have a teleflex two handle control and want to switch to the single handle quicksilver control (I don't want my kid grabbing the shift lever and jamming it into neutral or reverse at full throttle). These are readily available on E-bay. My question is: will most mercury controls work with most mercury motors? I need the throttle cable to "push", and the shifter cable needs to "pull" for forward and "push" for reverse. Can you tell me if this is the standard configuration for mercury outboards? Thanks.
