I've had enough politics for a while, so here's a little puzzle for the lateral thinkers out there.

You're driving down a country highway and you see 3 people at the side of the road

1) Your best friend. He desperately needs to get to hospital or he’ll die.
2) An old lady who is too frail to walk, and
3) The person of your dreams. You’ve been waiting your whole life to meet them.

Here’s the problem. You only have space in the car for you and one other. If you take your best friend to hospital the person of your dreams will be gone forever and the old lady will have died. But you can’t leave your best friend to die, so what do you do……..

Chris...............

e-mail me your answers and I'll post the best.
mahi01@iinet.net.au

Re: Conundrum

Well, if either the old lady or best friend could drive, then I'd hand one of them the keys and tell them both to get the hell outta here while I go talk to the woman of my dreams. I'm healthy, and I would have no problem walking home after meeting the woman of my dreams, especially if I saved 2 lives in the process. Everybody wins! :D

That's a little different than mine, but the same outcome.

You are driving downtown and come to a bus stop where you see your best friend, an old lady that needs to get to the hospital and the woman of your dreams that you can spend the rest of your life with, what do you do?

You still only have room for one in your car.

You hand the keys to your best friend for him to take the old lady to the hospital and you wait on the bus with the woman of your dreams.

Re: Conundrum

BTW, I have used this question in the past when hiring new people.

I just dug up one of the old applications and this is the question.

"You are driving down the road in your car on a wild,
stormy night, when you pass by a bus stop and you
see three people waiting for the bus:

1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.

2. An old friend who once saved your life.

3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.

Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing
that there could only be one passenger in your car?"

- You could pick up the old lady, because she is going
to die, and thus you should save her first.

- Or you could take the old friend because he once saved
your life, and this would be the perfect chance to pay him
back.

-However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate
again.

I don't use it anymore, cause out of the 10 years or so that I did, only one or two people came up with the right answer which is as follows.

"They simply answered: "I would give the car keys to my old
friend and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would stay
behind and wait for the bus with the partner of my dreams."

Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our
stubborn thought limitations.

Never forget to "Think Outside of the Box."

Now how it ever found it's way onto the www in the form above is beyond me.

"Think outside the box?" Heck I've never even been in the box. My wife calls me crazy because I think of things that no one ever thinks of in manners that no one conciders. Heck I have to wrap my head in duct tape to keep it together!!!But all in all, I am only dangerous to myself. All in all, I am only dangerous to myself. All in all, I am only dangerous... Phewwwwwww!
