Of all the questions I've ever Googled, this is the first one I can't find the answer to. I have a '73 50HP Evinrude that originally came with a convergence ring on the prop. I crossreferenced the prop, and bought the current Evinrude prop for it, which is flared. The original repair manual stresses the importance of using props with convergence rings for proper channelling of exhaust. Are these flared props acceptable replacements on older units, or should I keep looking for a prop with an older superceeded part number with a convergence ring?
