I just picked up a 25xd (think it's an 86) for $300 and plan to throw it on my 1548 mod v duck boat. The question I have is I found an 84 merc 20 that's being parted out, anyone know if that tiller handle would fit on my motor?

Also it came with two 11 pitch props, what should I be running around Utah (4500-9000')? it's a very light boat but I'll usually be running with at least two people and gear.

Thanks for anything!

Would be best to have the s/ns of both engines.

^1 + on tiller switching to tiller from remote. The 11 pitched props should be fine and you could probbly go up to a 13 if just you and one other + gear in the boat. You can still use the electric start setup for the motor, and easiest done by coiling the extra cord on the transom and making a new plate to mounting a new ing. switch/ choke in it. If you do not have a manual for the motor you should get one, as it will have all the wireing diagrams than can be used to do the job. You can also make your own new start system as the new tiller should have a kill switch in the handle. If the motor is from a lower eleavtion you might need to change the carb high speed jets as the fuel mixture will need to be diffrent sometimes. JMO
