hi, I am trying to change my temp gauge, I have the same brand replacement gauge however, the method that illuminates the gauge is different from my original. The original light has brass tabs that contact a brass tab on the back of the gauge to make contact- the new gauge has no such contact. I don't know where to buy a light bulb to use with this new style gauge. Any idea where to purchase new bulb?

Post a pic of borh gauges. Most likely your old bulb fits new gauge

I'm having trouble with a pic download but basically the new gauge requires a bulb with a socket and a wire pigtail./ the old gauge light wire had an eyelet that attached to a stud on the back of the gauge. so where might I find a bulb and socket with a wire pigtail to connect to the existing wire that operates the light.theres just a hole in theback of the gauge foe the lightbulb. this gauge is a datcon series06343 100-240 water temp gauge
thanks jim

Any auto store has them. NAPA auto parts might be a good source. Measure the diameter of the hole and then talk with someone older than 18.
