Hi Guys

We have a 5m boat which we will be using for diving. It has a Honda 45hp on the back.

I have access to a similar boat with a Yamaha 50 on the back. The prop has been changed to help with carrying the load of divers and the package works really well.

I intend to change the prop as per the above to something like 11 5/8 x 11. However, I gather it is possible to uprate the 45hp to 50.

Please can anyone advise how this is done and ideally part numbers for any jets / carbs that I may need.

Thank you for your help.

The carbs are different and the camshaft has a different porfile, this would be a costly job for the sake of 5 hp extra, let me know if you want to do it and I will send the part numbers

Even if you were to do it all you would notice without a stopwatch, tach and GPS is a much lighter wallet. Even the stopwatch, tach and GPS might not be able to show any difference.

Sorry for not seeing your replies earlier.

Thank you for the advice. I haven't got the boat in the water yet, but it does sound like we'll have to put up with it or change the whole engine if need-be.

Fingers crossed!

Thank you again for the advice.
