have a newer napoleon grill, hooked it up to natural gas, works allright but not hot enough, I was told to drill out the holes in the burner with a #59 drill bit... any suggestions?

which is better, drilling out the regulator or the hundreds of holes in the burner?

I don't think you should be messing with the regulator. Just get a NG jet for your grill. Since these things are sized by the BTUs consumed, I'd take the LP jet for comparison. I'm sure there is a conversion chart already worked out.

IF you unit is convertable between fuels, there should be a factory conversion kit available for it. Some brands just need different orifaces installed, some need the valves (on/off) adjusted or replaced, and some need the LPG regulator removed from the hose. Find out from your local dealer what is required for your model.

BTW, I am a licenced gasfitter, so if you see me running, you better catch up! :D
