i'm moving to alaska and want to run the rivers, but I love my BF50 and have looked into converting it into a 35 jet. I have found the kits, but it requires me to change the gears on the crank to a 1:1 ratio.
I'm pretty good mechanically, but haven't done any work on my outboard. Is changing the gears something that can be done installed on the transom, or will I have to pull the powerhead to get down to the gears. I was hoping to work up from the bottom and have access to them.
