converting from oil injection on 150 black max

I have a 86 150 hourse mercury black max and have been told that the oil pump is toast. It apearntly has a plastic gear inside that has been destroyed. how can you bypass the oil injection system or can you??????

You can it's vey easy. You'll need to purchase a plastice plug to take the place of the oil pump and a screw plug to take the place of an oil line thats comeing from the tank next to the gas tank, going to the base of the motor(all about 20 bones). Also you will need to disconnect the 3 way fitting that connects the oil line into the fuel line and directly connect the fuel lines. I did it on my 85 150 black max xr2. I think my pump was starting to go bad also. Smokes a bit more but you know the oil is getting in the cylinders. Don't forget to pre-mix 50-1. Good luck and let us know.<br />CU
