converting to Baystar hydraulic steering

I spent the afternoon taking out my steering cable and I thought I might upgrade.

My boat is an Arima 17 cuddy. The manufacturer now uses the Baystar as standard equipment.

Does the hydraulic system use the same tilt tube mounting as the rack/cable system? Are hole required to be drilled in the transom?

Any feedback would be appreciated--it is a lot of bucks, but hopefully will get me out of the cable changing business.

FWIW I tried using the search function, but I'm on dial up and found it very frustrating to use. If there is a current thread on this I would like to see it.

thanks

Re: converting to Baystar hydraulic steering

I am about to convert my Center Console to hydraulic. I will post my experiences when I am finished.
