Re: converting to pontoon

Dewey, I presume you want to make your cabin cruiser into a deck boat. When you cut off the cabin, you may want to use the deep spot (under the cabin) as storage. If so you will need to have a hatch of some kind. I would think the permanent part of the deck should be plywood and fiberglass over foam. The hatch part of the deck could be pressure treated 5/4 lumber of maybe the plastic decking lumber. Dont forget to have a drain or pump into the storage area you create.

I would check out aluminum and vinyl railings as used on house decks for your deckboat. They may be strong enough, and will be cheaper than marine railings. As a backup, threaded galvanized pipe could be used. This stuff weighs a lot, but they have those nice flanges that you could bolt to your deck, and allow the verticle pipes to screw in. I do not think PVC pipe is strong enough.

Re: converting to pontoon

dewey I use yahoo to post my pics here are some directions I wrote up a few weeks back. If you have any problems give me a yell.

Go to www.yahoo.com click on the “Photos” link, which will open up a sign in page. Click on “Not a member?”(Become a Yahoo Member), which is just under the sign in button. Fill out all of the information required in order to create a FREE Account. (Write down our Yahoo ID and password).
Open up the picture you wish to post and make sure you save it as a .JPEG or .JPG. To do this click “File/Save As” then under the “Save as type:” select .JPEG
Go back to the main page at www.yahoo.com click on the “Photos” button again this time sign in with your new Yahoo ID and password. You can chose the “Remember my ID on this Computer” If you would like it to do so for future use. Ok you will now be logged into the yahoo photo page click on “Create New Album” Name it and click continue. This will pull up a list of photos you can add. Click on the browse button to the right of the Photo1. This will open up a file structure like “My Computer” go to where you have the picture saved on your pc and double click on it. You can do the same for Photos2 thru 10. When finished click “Add Now” this will post them to your website. After the “Upload Complete” click on “View Album”.
In order for others to view your album you have to click on “Edit Album Info” and under the Advanced Sharing Settings click on “Edit Settings” and change it to “Public” then click “Save” You can add more albums by clicking on “Add New Album” and repeat the same steps as before.
Now to post the website with the pictures, so that others can enjoy them. To do this edit the following URL with your yahoo id and include it into your e-mail http://photos.yahoo.com/YAHOOID Change YAHOOID to your personal yahoo id Example of my website: http://photos.yahoo.com/voxmorgan
I would also suggest testing the link without being logged into yahoo. If you can view it without being logged in, so can we.
