The problem is controlling the boat once it is on the hydros. If I remember correctly the guy in the video was a computer programmer and was able to devise a program/system to operate the hydrofoils.

A hydro foil is all well and good but it sure does ruin any chances of shallow water operation at lower speeds. You had better have good depth at the dock and where ever you might need to slow down and come back down to the water level. Most of the places we dock and boat around here just aren't deep enough for such a boat.
