Coolant for closed. System 5.0

What is the recomended coolant for my 5.0. Should I add it through the pressure cap? When i look in there there is no visible fluid. Should there be

Drain some out of the block and find out which kind you have. You don't want to mix Propylene glycol with Ethylene glycol.

Yes, blue plug, 'n match the color of what you see....

I've seen green PG and EG antifreeze, so color doesn't really count unless you know the shades of green. You need two testers, the floating ball testers work great. Only one will work, the other won't. The one that works will tell you the type AF you have.
Personally, if it was my boat, and I didn't know what was in it, I would drain the the complete cooling system and fill it with what I wanted to use, and keep a 50/50 mix in a container on board for topping off.
