What kind of coolant do you all use? I have the illustrious Merc 488 (170), which I am understanding is an engine prone to cooling issues. Do I just get regular antifreeze from my local auto supply store? Full strength, or the 50/50?
Same as a car 50/50. They are not prone to any more issues than a reg motor,
Preventive maintance, avoiding a overheat AT ALL COSTS, drive service ,replacing the impeller, etc. They will run just as long
I wonder if that environmentally safe stuff works as good? I mean if you lose coolant and it goes into the lake that would suck. I know we have used in in autos before. Never really noticed any complaints. But a boat sees more higher speeds and wear than a car would.
