Cooling hose for Black Max

Are people just using fuel line for the water cooling lines? I have a 1988 Mercury 135hp V6 carb 2 stroke (similar to black max). Mercury part # is 32-77653101 and the cost is $1/inch which seems a bit steep. Just curious what people suggest. I think the size is 5/16" or so, but would appreciate if someone could confirm. I can't get to my boat because the border between Ontario and Quebec is closed due to COVID for the next 3 weeks. Thanks for your help.

That hose looks to be for the telltale. The OEM price is outrageous. Simply grab a piece of cheap 24" fuel line of the correct diameter. It should be $6-8 or so at a wallyworld.
