Hi,

I have the exhaust side cooling cover off and checked the small holes going to the cylinders.
In the right chamber there's a little hole that I believe should go to cylinder number one (1), but it doesn't go anywhere. Should it go through the block or not?

The engine is a Johnson 60Hp -89 3-cylinder.

Robbi

Hello again,

Come on you guys!! Someone must have a similar engine block nearby to look at.

I can see a hole going towards the number one cylinder. There's also a similar hole going the other way from the cylinder to the exhaust side. The problem is that the hole seems to be blocked. It's solid metal in there!! Should I drill the hole open? Has OMC managed to let out an engine with a manufacturing failure or what?

I have heard that these engines have had the problem of seizing on the first cylinder.

Comments or suggestions??

Robbi
