Cooling System Additives, Wetting Agents

Have a vehicle with 14K mi and was curious if there is any benefit for adding one of these agents that "makes water wetter" and has inhibitors and water pump lube.

If any of you have used or have knowledge/opinion please post.

Ayuh,... That stuff is pretty efficent at moving funds from your checking account to that of the manufacturer's...

Agreed. Your BEST INSURANCE is to keep the coolant fresh. ONLY USE DiSTILLED WATER to replenish or change. Only use the makers coolant. "Universal" coolants aren't universal. I've seen numerous issues with them. The reason being is that you can never get out 100% of the original coolant, even with exchange machines, out of the system. The "universals" react and create issues: Jelly, deposits, etc.

Coolant additives (like oil additives) are pretty much worthless in your vehicle.

Regular antifreeze contains both of those.

Really no reason to put coolant additives in the cooling system, just keep up with the recommended schedule of changing it out and you will be fine for a long time to come...

WE use a "water wetter" agent in the race car only because of the lube properties and only able to use pure water.
Keeping coolant fresh and corrosive properties at bay is the best maintenance to do as been posted previous.

Way to many gimmicks Mike. You don't need it in your application.
