The old mounting plate came off in pieces (seized/corroded/stripped bolts, all four), and everything just kind of popped out at once- now not totally sure if I have her back together correctly. According to the parts schematic online, the pressure valve goes in FRONT of the mount plate- functionally, this makes no sense as I see it.
This is how I put it in, both valves spring-loaded behind the plate. Also, there seems to a LOT of tension on the vernatherm valve- is this correct? It pushes in, but takes some force (I realize the spring pushes the piston back and needs firm pressure, but wow). Okay the picture's too big, but you get the idea. Both valves between the engine and the plate, with only the vernatherm in the thermo housing cover. This seems to make sense to me, but I've been wrong before.
