how hot should an engine get(9.9 HP force) assuming there is a constant flow of water (imperller is fine etc...)... and is there some type of thermometer I can get to attach to the cylinder head or something to make SURE I'm not overheating<br />thanks

common rule of thumb, if you can touch the head and count to five (slowly) before you have to pull your hand away, it hasn't overheated..<br /><br />There is a topic about adding temp guages in this forum now, you should have a read, there is some good suggestions in there.<br /><br />rgds<br /><br />Frank
