What is your serial number?
Are you trying muffs or is boat in the water?

First check the hose connections.
Hose on top comes from drive
Hose on bottom goes to engine oil cooler and then to thermostat housing

If correct, disconnect hose at thermostat and start motor.

If no water, disconnect at cooler

If no water your back to the pump

I have done this including a back flush to assure that there is not blockage. So your are suspecting that it is the actual water pump? I am not sure your statement of the "start motor or cooler. This is not a closed system

start motor or cooler

My comment was to remove the hose coming from the pump at the thermostat housing. The hose comes from the pump, to the oil cooler and then to the housing. Remove the hose and "start the motor" , you should see water coming out of the hose.

Since you back flushed including from the pump and out the drive, then it may be the pump. If it was started and did not have water it might have burnt the impeller.

Also look at the hose from the drive bell housing going to the transom plate on the stern. Some time that hose gets twisted and will not allow water to flow
