I have a 1992 90 hp force. The water pump is all new but the water is not getting to the powerhead. I took the gear box off and put a hose right where the water pump attaches and the water comes out of a hole in the casting just inside the leg. It looks like there is a brass tube running up to the powerhead. Could this be split or is there a hole in it? If its leaking how do I repair or change it

Re: cooling tube

Did you put the water up that brass tube? That is your water intake line, btw. Even still, I"d think you would be getting some water up through the t-stat housings with a crack. Unless, there's a blockage in that line as well. Sometimes, dirt dobbers make nests in some of the worst places. I'd put the hose to the end of that tube and watch with a flashlight what happens to the water. You can run a wire up there if it's clogged. If it is cracked, then you would need to replace it.

Re: cooling tube

Profile,location?
You might be close to someone who can help??
When you changed the old impeller did it come out in one piece or pieces?
The pump have all 6 vanes?
Possible the tube is blocked?
Hole in the casting??? Pic??
If you can hook a hose to it,then turn it on slow and look up inside to see where it's leaking.

The copper tube is held in place with a rubber gromet and bracket.
If it's leaking at the grommet or the tube is bad???
The powerhead needs to come off.
Post some pics???
