I've owned a couple of 4 and 5 hp older johnson kickers this summer and I've notice on both engines that there is about six little holes that the cooling water comes out of. But on either one the water doen't really come out that strong, it just kind spits out. Is this normal? I'm thinking that if them six little holes where one bigger hole it might come out in more of a normal stream.<br />Thanks Jim

Re: cooling water outlet

It's perfectly normal to have just a spritzing of water from the small holes. At idle, holding your hand near the holes will wet your hand with a fine spray or mist. Drilling larger holes to get a steady stream is a bad idea, you'll never get a steady stream. You would have to tap the powerhead water jacket to get such a stream. The old saying, 'If it ain't broken, don't fix it", applies here....
