On my 1960 johnson seahorse 18 I have been doing some work on the ignition system with all new coils/condesors/points/plug wires. and i was getting really good spark and it ran great but then all of a sudden it stop sparking and i think it might be the plug wires because the ones o replace them with are the wires that have a thread as a conductor where as the originals are copper but does it make a difference in the conductor inside's.

That would be the wrong type of spark plug leads for that motor. You must use the metal core wire.
Most NAPA parts stores sell it by the foot.

Your local Evinrude dealer or even an auto supply store should have rolls of Packard 440 solid core plug wire that they can cut you off the correct lengths.

I got some 7mm copper core wires from NAPA the other day for about $3 a foot. Made all the difference in the world. Glad you got her running right.
