hello, I have no power when i go full throttle and my mechanic says that i might need a new core.
my question is what is a core?
what doess a core do?
and how much doess a core costs??
thanks for your help..
A core is usually the broken used part you are replacing and done with.

For instance: You buy a rebuilt powerhead (the motor/engine part of your outboard motor) The rebuilders want your old part back in exchange for the rebuilt stuff. So they can fix it all up and sell that one too.

As you see in the image below, if you don't have the old part to send back, or the park is broken so bad it's unrepairable they charge an additional (core) charge.

And note that almost any part aquired as rebuilt will usually have a core charge attached if you can't give them a rebuildable part in return.

What your mechanic is calling a core is unknown to me.
