I prefer my dead cow without taste disguising stuff on it. Maybe just a bit of salt.

Of course that requires that the dead cow is at least USDA Choice, Prime is better.

Well JB I don't know why anyone would put BBQ on steak..........I figured we were talking pork. If its cheap steak I like to use Vidalia Onion Steak sauce, otherwise I like it with just salt.

Oh, pork, huh?

You see, in Texas BBQ means dead cow. I forgot that in other parts they actually call roasted or grilled pig BBQ.

Re: Corky's Own BBQ Sauce?

i have been to the famous Corky's in Memphis and it was nothing special. I was pumped by the reputation and disapointed with the food.

Baby Ray's is good stuff! Maul's isn't bad but is a little ketchupy. I like it on BBQ Chicken. Gate's out of KC has some good sauces and I get that from time to time. We also have a place called "Super Smokers" and they sell their sauce at the local grocery stores. I use Cattlemen's as well. That may or may not be nationwide. I tell you what, a place called "Trader Joes", which is owned by Aldi's, has there own brand BBQ sauce. Oh it's Spicey and good. I had it on country ribs and it was awesome.

I think it just depends on what you are cooking. I like KC masterpiece from time to time as well. It's a little too sweet though. As far as steak goes, I don't ruin it with sauce. We use a steak marinade which is awesome called Andrias.

http://www.andrias.com/history.asp

We use that and then put a little pad of butter to finish it off...wooooweeee!
