Correct ECM Module

Looks like my 1999 Wellcraft Martinique got hit by lightning, the mechanic is telling me the ECM module is cooked, just trying to confirm the correct module #, the serial # of my 5.7 EFI motor is 0L083411. I was given an ECM part # of 806720R7 (around $850) but when I pull up my serial # on-line I get a part # of 861542R03 ($573). Appreciate any assistance!

I think that is a MEFI3 ECM. They are real hard to find. You may have to uprade to MEFI4. Merc sells a MEFI4 update kit.<br /><br />Dave

The 861542R03 is a remanned ECM, not sure what the 806720R7 goes to, but it is a good number.<br />Is your engine raw or fresh water cooled. It may have been changed thus having a different ECM.

The 806720R7 ECM is remanned for the 5.7LX EFI, serial numbers 0F752400 to 0K999999 (1996-1997). The 861542R03 ECM is remanned for 5.7LX EFI Gen+ serial numbers 0L010035 to 0L325976 (1998). These are MEFI1 or 2 ECM's and should be available.<br /><br />Dave
