Correct fuel pump rebuild kit for 77 85hp Evinrude

Does anyone know if there is a rebuild kit available for this pump? I can't seem to find one on the Evinrude site.

Your motor is 43 years old.-----Does it still have the factory original pump ????------I am sure there is a kit.-----About all that can go wrong is the diaphragm.----Take yours apart.-----Compare the diaphragm to the ones in the various kits.--I believe Sierra has a kit listed.-----These pumps are nearly " bomb proof " ---so what is your motor doing / not doing ?

I took a photo of the part number. It's very hard to read but I think it's 385784. Reason I want to go through it is because the engine starts to bog when it hits 4k rpm almost like it's running out of fuel. Runs fine at all other rpms.

What happens when your assistant operates the manual pump at 4000 RPM ?---What other trouble shooting has been done ?

I haven't tried using the primer bulb while running above 4k. My passenger probably wouldnt have wanted to go back by the engine while at full throttle haha.

My thinking is that everything is new apart from the fuel pump. Carbs were done recently, new tank and new primer and hose.

Other than that i havent tested the output pressure. is there an idle cranking test for pressure and volume?

I believe a kit is available in the Sierra catalogue for the fuel pump on the 77 model 85 HP.

Thanks racerone, i checked out the catalog on marine engine and it directed me to a note on fitment.

It mentioned that early pumps with "shoulders" need part number 393103 and late with the triangle shaped top portion with no shoulders get part number 398514.

Im gonna grab the 398514 since thats the style thats on my engine.
