I have a 1986 mariner 30EL. I just got it last month and it did not come with a manual.

Can anyone tell me what the correct spark plug gap should be?

Right now it looks like a rather large gap and I just want to verify it.

Thanks!!!

I dont know for sure, but arent you suspose to use spark plugs without that little prong thing? I know on my old '80 model 115 it used Champion L76V plugs. You might look for MrMerc and ask him.

The plugs that are in it now are Champion L82C. Hope these are the correct ones!!!

Best thing to do is either find a Manual for your particular motor or call a dealer and ask him what was recommended for that year. Sometimes they changed the recommended plug for a certain year. I had a 70 something 60 HP Mariner and the manual said to use L82C for normal operation and the L76V for sustained high speed operation. That's why I would check with the dealer, just to be sure. He can also give you the proper Gap for the plugs, if needed. Good Luck, Rick
