I have just bought a 1986 Evinrude 150 Horse VRO Mod# E150TLCDC. I have had several versions of what the oil mixture should be, can you tell me what the real mixture should be?

Re: correct oil mixture

Hi, Danny.

This question really belongs on the Engines and Motors Forum.

If your VRO is connected and working, don't put oil in your fuel. That is what the VRO is for.

Good luck. :)

I also have a 150 vro, an 86 model. Every marine dealer in town and some other mechanics I know have told me to disconnect it. They were not very reliable is what I was lead to believe. So i did. I now mix the gas and it runs great. But don't necessarily take my word for it. I just traded for the motor and boat a month ago. I would definately ask around and form my own opinion were I you. Good luck and happy boating.
