I have an 8 hp yamaha 2 stroke outboard motor on which I'd like to change the fuel filter. The owner's manual seems to clearly show it with the arrow on it pointing away from the carbuerator and "out" towards the fuel line. (See attachement #1). On an exploded diagram from Yamaha & in a photo from a Yamaha service/dealer it shows it facing the other way. (See attachment #2 ) Which is correct? Thanks

arrow indicates flow direction, should point to the carb direction.

So just to confirm - the "Color Photo" from the Yamaha servicer which has the filter oriented with the arrow going toward the carbuerator - bringing fuel in from the "outside" would be the correct placement? The one in the actual Yamaha owner's manual is actually wrong. Thanks

yes, thats why the arrow is there. kinda like the arrow on your fuel primer bulb.
