Correct Piston for 454 MAG Engine

Serial 0M005483, 1999 454 MAG


I have been searching for the correct stock specs but can't narrow it down. I need to have my block bored .030 over because of rust pitting. I would like to use aftermarket forged pistons and not pay the top dollar for a set of 8 OEM forged pistons.


I know the bore is 4.25 and I will need 4.28 pistons for a 4.0 storke.
But what is the rod length?
What is the dome height?
compression distance?
Top ring thickness?


I was told Chevorlet used JE Pistons in their MAG blocks but i cant figure out which ones. I looked at the Perprotech site but can't really igure it out form their specs either.

Can anyone help? I just want to match stock specs with a .030 bore. This is one of ICON's below.
