I've heard a quite a bit of variation on the answer as to where the exact location of the cavitation plate should be in relation to the bottom of the boat. Any ideas? And are there any circumtances in which you might want different adjustments? Thanks, Roy.

Re: Correct Position for an Outboard

Anti ventilation plate roughly even with bottom of boat when trimmed level is a good starting point.Basically you would like to get it as high as you can without experiencing excess ventilation executing a tight turn at around 2/3 throttle on plane.Only a water test will dictate the final placement. This will reduce drag , exhaust back pressure, and allow you to get the most from your setup.
