Correct temperature sender for 1977 2.5L MCM 120?

Anyone know which size I would need? 1/2 or 3/8? I'm trying to avoid an extra trip to the boat with current gas prices

Or maybe any suggestions as to how to remove the old one. I've tried every lubricant I can think of and it is rusted down pretty good.
