I have a 16ft tri-hull that I want to mount a trolling motor to. I don't have room on my transom for one back there so I need it up front. Can I mount one with an open bow? I don't need a foot control. Thanks

If you have a place to put it sure, in fact it will work better on the bow. You will most likely have to turn the head or the motor 180? but that is a very simple job.

There is usually a screw under the tiller arm that pins it to the shaft ..take that out rotate it and put it back ...will work a treat.

Oh, so you guys are saying buy a transom mount type and then just flip it around? I hadn't thought of that.
