25' center console mint condition hull except for a 2.5' scrape dead cent on the bottom of the boat. I want to call it the keel, but I doubt that is the proper name. The sturdy part the front of the boat would sit on if it was sitting flat on the ground a few feet back from the front. The scrape has the gel coat and paint off down to the fiberglass with no real fiberglass damage and is about 1" wide. I have no fiberglass repair experience, but my guess is there wouldn't be any real fiberglass repair, just smoothing it out and getting the coatings back after using some kind of filler. About how much for something like this to be repaired properly by an experienced expert? Thanks ;)

Sounds like just wear from beaching and such. Have the same thing on my Bayliner, going to buy Keelgard and just cover it up. It's in the Overton's and Cabelas catalogs. Looks to be a poly strip that glues to the keel w/ 3M tape. It runs about $149 for a 17 ft boat. I can't see re-gel coating just a 2 foot strip that doesn't go all the way down to the glass.
If yours is really deep and beat up bad, it may not work. Just a suggestion.

The scrape is definitely to the surface of the fiberglass, but doesn't seem to be into the fiberglass at all. The edges are flaking and rough around it. I like the idea of the keel guard, but after it is fixed.
